The 12 houses of Astrology are ruled by the planets to Astrology and by the 12 signs of the zodiac. Aries rules the first house and its planetary ruler is mars. The first house is also known as the ascendant and it is the house of self, first impressions, the personality, vitality, identity, and early childhood. There is also a rumor that these houses/planets placed in specific places may play a part in your physical appearance. However, not everyone is sure about that.
Taurus and the planet Venus rule the second house. It rules money and possessions, though possessions aren’t limited to our material things. It also rules income and how we can use our possessions to their fullest potential.
Capricorn and Cancer
Cancer and Capricorn are both cardinal signs of the zodiac. They are also one of the ‘B’ pairs of opposites in the zodiac. Despite the fact that Cancer’s and Capricorn’s are essentially very different they have a big similarity. Both want security. Cancer’s usually want security in terms of having a happy family or home life.
Capricorns on the other hand are looking for physical security. Physical security as in money, a house, cars, etc. They also, in a way, want to have a good stable job. However, many Capricorns want a family as well, but everything else I previously mentioned comes first. For Cancers, it’s vise versa; they’re usually more concerned with maintaining a family first. Regardless, security remains a common characteristic for both.
Why the moon in Capricorn is in detriment.
The moon in astrology rules the sign Cancer and has people respond to their emotions. Cancer is a very emotional sign, unless there are other aspects or placements that indicate otherwise. As a general rule, earth signs are not outwardly emotional. However, the most outwardly unemotional sign is Capricorn. The reason for this is because Saturn – the planet of limitations – rules Capricorn: karma, life lessons, etc. Because Saturn is so restrictive, Capricorn keeps its emotions under control by suppressing them. Of course, this can be either amplified or debilitated by either the aspects or placements in the natal chart.
In addition to all of that, Capricorn and Cancer are opposites. The reason why Capricorn Moon is in detriment is because Capricorn, as a sign, is emotionally repressed. And generally has problems handling its own emotional needs, or the emotional needs of others. That, along with the fact that Cancer is its opposite, makes moon in Capricorn, detriment.
However, aspects of other placements in the chart could compensate for it, or even make it worse. Regardless, having a Capricorn Moon is not the end of the world. Capricorn moons are usually very productive individuals, and usually have very strong wills. They just need to learn to better express their emotions.
Detriment, Exaltation, Home, and Fall.
